Rival Lacrosse Mission Statement
Triangle Select Lacrosse, Fusion Lacrosse and all its’ affiliated programs have the mission to promote and honor the fun game of lacrosse among the youth of Durham County, Orange County and the City of Cary North Carolina. Our staff will strive to enhance each player’s individual and team skills with a consistent emphasis on sportsmanship and fair play. Teaching life lessons beyond the playing field and recognizing the importance of all players and participation regardless of ability, talent or skill is our philosophy.
Program Summary
The Rival Lacrosse fall instructional program for boys and girls will stress the foundation of individual skill development and its’ progression into group and team play. The eight (8) week fall program will build upon the foundation of skills taught the previous week. Our staff will work to achieve mastery of each skill for each participant with the hope of culminating the fall with a successful understanding of individual and team concepts. Our fall program will lay the groundwork for our spring play league.
Players will be broken into groups based on current grade and experience level to ensure that every boy and girl is getting the proper instruction and advancing at the appropriate pace.
The program will start with individual instruction building to group play to full field scrimmage games. Each site will have a Site Director who will act as the expert instructor and demonstrator and he will manage his site staff to ensure all skills are reinforced during drill and scrimmage work.
